You’re invited to a Meet the Contractor Open House for the 600 N/700 N Reconstruction Project. The open house will take place 4:30–6:30 pm at Backman Elementary on April 16th.
Road construction on 600/700 North is expected to start soon and will last through 2026. During this time the Jordan River Bridge at 650 North will also be rebuilt. The bridge work will result in a road closure and detour of up to 8 months.
The best way to stay up to date with construction schedules and impacts so you can plan your travel is to subscribe to updates at 600northslc.org, 801-618-1003, and 600north@slc.gov.
In addition to new pavement and traffic calming, the project will add dedicated sidewalks. To learn more about these improvements you’re invited to meet the project contractor, learn about construction schedules and impacts, and enjoy free food and giveaways including bike lights and helmets. Salt Lake City Engineering and Transportation are giving away four certificates for a bike from the Bicycle Collective and there will be a bike rodeo for kids to help them learn how to ride safely. Bikes will be provided or bring your own.
