Construction begins Monday, September 14th, 2026, on the Pioneer Trail.
UDOT is building a portion of the Pioneer Trail project on State Street between North Temple and 200 North in Salt Lake City.
As soon as Monday, September 14, State Street will close between North Temple and 300 North as road and landscaping improvements occur at the State Street intersections at Hillside Avenue and 200 North. The closure will be in place 24/7 until road and trail work is complete in November. Landscaping work and minor traffic shifts will occur through the end of December.
Work will occur 7 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday. No weekend, night, or holiday work is expected.
Access will be maintained for homes with exclusive access via State Street. Residents should expect short delays leaving and arriving at their homes. Short driveway closures may be required for some work activities and will be communicated in advance.
