On Tuesday, June 10, the Salt Lake City Council adopted the City’s $2.2 billion annual budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26 (FY26), which starts July 1 and ends June 30, 2026.

The budget invests in our city’s critical safety and maintenance needs while addressing the impacts of inflation. The General Fund makes up about 28% of the budget and supports City operations and public services. It includes funding to improve public safety, increase the housing supply, maintain public spaces, and more. It also includes changes to water, sewer, and stormwater utility rates and increases in streetlighting and curbside garbage collection rates.
